This mix was mainly
inspired by the massive Homebase warehouse
parties of the late 90s in
Oakland, CA. Homebase (aka Oakland
International Rave Center)
was where the first rave that I went to was
held. Even though it
no longer exists, it will always be
the place
where I fell in love
with electronic music and its culture. Combining
techno, breakbeat,
big beat, trip-hop and progressive house, this dark,
pounding set lays the foundation of the Beat Counselor sound.
